| 52" x 48" (W x H)
This work is a continuation of another piece called, Grand Canyon in Perpetual Motion. The music for that piece was the 1st movement from Samuel Barber's Excursions. The work reminds me of a moving train - a steam train, moving relentlessly through the Grand Canyon. I wanted to continue my study of shadows through the Grand Canyon, with the same piece in my head. However, after it was finished, I could hear a more dramatic, expansive piece as I looked at this work - Franz Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody #5. |
